Who Is a New / Young Member?

The PCSO defines a New / Young member as all residents attending orthodontic programs in the PCSO region and any member with 7 years or less of PCSO membership.

What Does the PCSO Offer New / Young Members?

Belonging to the PCSO brings with it many benefits, including the ability to attend PCSO meetings, receiving The Bulletin and access to the PCSO Web site.

However, many new members have voiced that many programs offered by the PCSO seem to be geared toward seasoned orthodontists. To ensure that new and young members needs are being addressed by the PCSO, the New and Young Member Ad Hoc Committee was formed.

The objectives of the committee include:

1. To provide a venue where new and young PCSO members and spouses can gather to make new acquaintances, discuss common issues and share ideas.

2. To provide a conduit through which new and young members can have issues brought to the attention of the PCSO Board of Directors or the appropriate committees.

3. To provide an opportunity for new and young members to get involved in the PCSO via participation in the New and Young Member Committee.

4. To provide a central location where new and young members can seek out other members for disability groups, study clubs, etc.

5. To address the needs of young orthodontists who are trying to balance raising a family with starting their careers.

New and Young Member Forum

For the past several years, the New and Young Member Committee has hosted a New and Young Member Forum at the PCSO annual session. Be sure to register for it when you submit your general registration for the PCSO Annual Session in Monterey, CA. Register online here.
