Who We Are

The Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists was founded in 1912 and has grown to nearly 3,000 members. PCSO is comprised of component organizations and is the largest constituent organization of the American Association of Orthodontists.

Our Mission

The Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists is a professional organization of orthodontic specialists whose mission is to help its members provide the highest level of care to the public by providing quality continuing education, providing a framework for a strong political voice, facilitating two-way communications between the organization and its members, and supporting the successful practice of orthodontics.

The New & Younger Member Director-at-Large position on the PCSO Board of Directors was established in 2019. The position allows a member within 10 years of graduation from orthodontic residency to serve as a voting member of the board for a two-year term.

The mission of the WSSO is to help orthodontists in Washington State provide excellent orthodontic care by providing quality continuing education for orthodontists and orthodontic staff, liaising with the Washington State Dental Association for political and practical practice issues, and facilitating communications between the organization and orthodontists.

The SSO serves orthodontic members who practice in the province of Saskatchewan.

The Oregon State Society of Orthodontists (OSSO) is a state component organization of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO). Members of the OSSO are dental specialists in the field of orthodontics and members of the AAO who reside and practice in Oregon. The OSSO hosts an annual continuing education meeting for its members.

Founded in 1963, the British Columbia Society of Orthodontists (BCSO) has been the voice of board-certified orthodontists in British Columbia for 50 years. The organization is dedicated to promoting the highest standards of excellence in orthodontic education and quality of patient care.

The Arizona State Orthodontic Association (ASOA) is a professional association of orthodontic specialists who have had two to three years additional training in an ADA-approved University Orthodontic Program. We are trained in applying braces, both visible and invisible, on the teeth of adults and children to improve their dental health by helping them bite correctly and building self-esteem by making their faces look better. Our members are dedicated to delivering the highest standards of excellence in orthodontic education and quality patient care.

The ASSO serves orthodontic members who practice in the state of Alaska.

CAO members are specialists who have completed dental school and then successfully completed 2–3 years of additional training at an accredited orthodontic residency program.
