Dr. Prashansa Sharma, is not your typical orthodontist- she has a quirky personality and a fascinating history that sets her apart from the rest.Dr Sharma practices in Arizona but her life has taken her through many places.
Dr. Sharma has moved around the country almost 15 times before finally settling in Arizona in 2016. Her childhood was full of interesting experiences, including winning 1st Runner-up and “Prettiest Eyes” in a beauty pageant at the age of 5 and being featured in an Indian music video with Snoop Dogg.
Despite her accomplishments, Dr. Sharma doesn’t take herself too seriously. She likes to blame her short height and any other shortcomings on being premature, as she was born at only 2 pounds and 14 ounces. She also wishes she could breakdance, play the drums, and beatbox, and loves puns and mom jokes.
Dr. Sharma’s education includes a degree in Dental Medicine from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a specialization in Orthodontics from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.
When it comes to her work as an orthodontist, Dr. Sharma values the small moments that make a difference in her patients’ lives. One of her favorite memories is of a young patient who was nervous about having a baby tooth removed, but ended up being thrilled with the result. Another fond memory is of a time when she and her colleagues created a “dream team” of positive and hard-working individuals who spread joy and humor throughout the day.
Dr. Sharma’s sense of humor and playful personality are not just a fun addition to her practice – they also help her connect with patients and make them feel comfortable. She has a talent for turning what could be a stressful or intimidating experience into a lighthearted and enjoyable one.
